Job description
One Works, an international design and consulting firm that offers integrated services in architecture, engineering, infrastructure, and urban planning to create and shape the most complex projects, is looking for a geologist to continuously support the engineering design activities at its Venice-Marghera office.
Activities:
Preparation of geotechnical and environmental investigation plans based on project needs
Surveys, coordination, and interpretation of geotechnical investigations with the production of geological/geotechnical models
Data processing and representation of geotechnical data in GIS environments
Forecasting the effects of the interaction between geological phenomena (landslides, floods, volcanic activity, erosion, etc.) and anthropogenic systems
Drafting of the Geological Report and support for the Geotechnical Report
Calculation of bearing capacity and settlement of foundations
Production of geological, geomorphological, and hydrogeological maps and sections
Preparation of the report on material management and excavation soil and rock usage plans
Ensuring compliance with legal standards and parameters and verifying the correctness of the presented evaluations and proposed interventions
Management of excavation soil and rock
Environmental remediation
Job requirements
Degree in Geology (preferably with a focus on geotechnics and/or environmental studies)
At least five years of previous experience in the role
Excellent computer skills: MS Office; AutoCAD, GIS
Competence in searching, managing, and visualizing/downloading data from national/regional geoportals and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Knowledge of current national regulations concerning geological topics, excavation soils and rocks, and waste management (specifically, the NTC 2018, DPR 120/2017, and the Environmental Code D.Lgs. 152/2006)
Knowledge of regional geological and seismic regulations, particularly with regard to Level II seismic analyses and/or RSL studies
Proficiency in the English language
Reliability, accuracy, ability to work in a team, and excellent organizational skills
